Dragon & Phoenix, A legend by Piaget

Dec 30, 2012

In collaboration with renowned luxurious watchmaker Piaget, Emperor Watch and Jewellery presents “Piaget Dragon & Phoenix Exhibition”, featuring a series of thelegendary Dragon and Phoenix watch collection specially created by Piaget in honour of the coming Year of the Dragon and as a tribute to the rich culture proffered by Chinese heritage to the world. The Dragon is one of the most ancient and sacred Chinese totems, symbolising at once the identity of the nation and the highest achievements of Chinese civilisation. The Phoenix, queen of all birds and symbol of virtue, is revered as a creature of unsurpassed elegance and beauty for its propriety and compassion. The imperial couple has always occupied an essential status in Chinese culture and history: with the Phoenix representing the Yin (feminine) and the Dragon, the Yang (masculine) — the two eternal forces of the Universe, the couple incarnate cosmological harmony, lending energy and abundance to the Chinese civilisation. The richness and elegance evoked by this legendary icon inspired Piaget for this unique collection.

Piaget has called upon its most talented artisans, including designers, master- watchmakers, goldsmiths, gem-setters and engravers, marrying to perfection their craftsmanship and artistry to create this legendary collection. With extraordinary creative vision, Piaget’s artists reinterpret the imaginary world of Chinese imperial symbols and forming a collection more than ever destined to inspire and nurture dreams. At the hearts of these astonishing creations beat precious movements from the Piaget workshops in La Côte-aux-Fèes. Elegant ultra-thin calibres marrying with interpretations of the brand’s most iconic models— the Collection is made to enthral with its excellence in aesthetic quality and craftsmanship.
